Sevenoaks District Arts Council (SDAC) was set up in 1974 after the re-arrangement of the district boundaries, with the aim of supporting arts development within the District of Sevenoaks – financially or otherwise.
Over the last twenty years the membership has grown and we now have almost fifty member societies from all over the district from Swanley to Sevenoaks and a wide variety of groups ranging from music, dance and drama to camera clubs and historical societies.
Financial help can be in the form of Sponsorship, Grants, Loans or Underwriting – a form which gives members the financial security they need when putting on a show and yet frequently, when it is not called upon, allowing the money to be “recycled”. Because funds are limited, SDAC normally is only able to assist exclusively amateur groups or principally amateur productions or events.
