Sevenoaks Tennis Club is the largest tennis club in the Sevenoaks area, with a wide range of activities taking place throughout the week. The club’s facilities include 7 all-weather courts, 2 of which are the latest artificial clay, and 5 are artificial grass. Four of the artificial grass and the 2 clay courts are floodlit.
The club has a licensed bar, TV, full changing facilities with toilets and showers, a games room (with table football) and a separate office for the coaching team. The ball machine is stored here.
Club Sessions open to full members take place on Saturday afternoons from 14.00-17.00 and Sunday mornings from 10.00 -13.00. On Saturday afternoons, one grass court can be booked by members not attending the club session. Joint club sessions for full and standard members take place on Tuesday mornings from 9.30am, on Thursday evenings from 18.30pm, and on Bank Holidays from 14.00-17.00pm. Club teams, including men’s, ladies’, mixed and veterans’ teams are entered into the Kent League during Summer and Winter, and there are mid-week ladies’ friendly matches against local clubs.
Tournaments run at the club include the Club Summer Tournament, Bank Holiday tournaments, one of the largest junior tournaments in the county during the summer holiday, and Junior Kent Doubles Starter Tournaments (see juniors). The club also features an inter-member ladder system, for members who wish to compete on a more social level and track their progress throughout the season.
Juniors are welcomed at the club and actively encouraged to participate in club events.
Court booking is carried out entirely on the club website, allowing for bookings to be made at home without the necessity to come to the club to do so. However, for any members who don’t have internet access at home, the clubhouse computer can be used to access the site. Courts may be booked up to 8 days in advance.
