The Space – performing arts centre, is a resource for Sevenoaks School and the wider community, not only in supporting high quality music and drama provision with first-class teaching, recording and performance facilities but also with the potential to be a major venue for the arts in the South East, including the best concert hall between the South Bank and the South Coast.
With 15 individual practice rooms, multi-use teaching space, a Sibelius computing suite, state of the art recording studio and covering over 2000m², The Space provides an environment worthy of both professionals and performers learning their craft.
There are four unique performance spaces:
The Pamoja Hall
This superb auditorium seats 410 for concerts, with a stage big enough for an 80-piece orchestra and the facility to seat a 150-strong choir. It boasts a world-class acoustic.
The Recital Room
Seating up to 100, the Recital Room is a flexible space for more intimate performances of solo and chamber music. It has an excellent acoustic with captivating views of the school grounds through ceiling height windows.
The Ordovsky-Tanaevsky Drama Studio
A smaller space seating up to 100, it provides an intimate setting for budding actors to learn their craft. It is supported by state of the art technologies.
The Sackville Theatre
An existing building, the theatre has been renovated and incorporated into The Space. It seats up to 230 people for larger dramatic productions.
