The Air Training Corps has almost 49,000 members aged between 13 and 22 organised into over 1,000 squadrons. This makes the ATC one of the country’s biggest youth organisations. Volunteer Staff account for 10,000 adult staff members of the organisation, augmented by over 5,000 civilian committee members. The Air Training Corps has three main aims:
- To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
- To provide training which will be useful in the services and civilian life.
- To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
The ATC is also the UK’s largest Operating Authority for the Duke Of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, along with with a registered provider for BTECs in Aviation Studies, Public Services and other qualifications!
Please contact us if you are interested and we will be happy to introduce you to the squadron personally.
