Sevenoaks Rail Travellers Association

Sevenoaks Rail Travellers’ Association (SRTA) aims to represent the interests of commuters using Sevenoaks and stations nearby – Bat and Ball, Dunton Green, Eynsford, Kemsing, Otford, and Shoreham. (Other stations may be covered by other local groups)

We lobby railways management, regulators and planners. These efforts have secured longer and more frequent trains, as well as better facilities at local stations.

The SRTA Committee and its Stations and Trains Groups have frequent contacts with the senior management of the train operator, station managers and local government.

Current issues include:

Timetable changes from 2015 because of the rebuilding of London Bridge
The (temporary?) cancellation of stops at Sevenoaks by London-bound Hastings trains
The closure of Cannot Street Underground Station on Sundays – even when all trains are diverted there!
The quality of passenger information

We press for commuters’ interests on a wide range of local concerns such as –

timetabling and performance
ticket machines
car and cycle parking
other station facilities.

We also make representations on wider strategic issues affecting the local and regional rail network. These include the higher demand for rail services as a result of the Ryewood development at Dunton Green

The Association welcomes new members – the more members we have, the greater our influence with MPs, Ministers and the railway companies. More details about membership are on our website.
