I run a private practice within minutes of London Bridge & the City of London.
I also have a practice in Sevenoaks, Kent.
I imagine you’re considering counselling because you’re experiencing something that feels hugely challenging, or something that feels ‘smaller’ but is still bothering you. It could be that you’re not experiencing a specific difficultly but wish to develop a new capacity, such as creativity or assertiveness.
Each reason is equally valid and welcome.
There are no rules about what you can or can’t bring to counselling.
I have experience in working with a wide range of issues.
I have special expertise in working with individuals who experience anxiety and/or depression. I am interested in the relationship that our anxiety/depression has with the way we limit who we are and what we can express in the world.
My way of working is focused on the concepts of care and will.
I practice care by listening with presence, empathy and non-judgment. Care is acting with the knowledge that you and your difficulties matter. It is often through receiving care that we can emerge from our troubles.
I practice will by supportively holding clients accountable to the changes that they seek from our work together.
Bringing in the concepts of care and will tells you that you can expect me to both empathise with you, and when appropriate, challenge you so that you can reach your goals and desires.
You can also expect me to engage with you, to be ‘real’ with you, and to not be purely a ‘blank screen’.
Training & Qualifications:
I have a private practice as well as assisting on the high quality counselling training at the Psychosynthesis Trust.
My training was integrative, drawing from all schools of psychology. Its defining feature is that as well as working directly with the challenges you bring, it also holds space for the development of human potential, which can include, for example, developing self awareness & a sense of meaning and purpose.
I have a PGDip (3 year Postgraduate Diploma) in Psychosynthesis Counselling, validated by the University of Middlesex and accredited by BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).
I also have a BA Hons in English Literature and History of Art, The University of York.
