Plaxtol Memorial Hall is situated in School Lane (TN13 0QD)
The building – constructed in 1847 – became the ‘Village Hall’ in 1964 and is now Grade 2 listed. It is largely as originally built and remains a focal point of the village. Construction is brick, Kent ragstone, slate roof and oak frame windows.
Access
The hall can be accessed on foot or by car. The car park which includes a space for the Disabled will accommodate 11 vehicles.
Facilities
Main hall (98.1 m2) is licensed for 100 people seated. (80 at tables).
Committee room (27.4m2) will accommodate 20 persons.
There is a well equipped modern stainless steel kitchen,a baby changing facility and a toilet for the Disabled.
Hirers
The hall is available for hire and current Users/Hirers include:
Nursery school, Toddlers Group, Youth Club, Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, Men’s Society, Womens’ Institute, Local History Group, Amateur Dramatics Group, Plaxtol Parish Council, School Drama Club, Parochial Church Council, Ballroom dancing tuition, Childrens’ parties (age limit 12 years).
Rates are available for exhibitions and functions such as weddings, christenings or funerals.
