The Malt Shovel is Free House located in the picturesque village of Eynsford. The building was first sited in 1743 and served as a Malt House and was converted into a Public House in 1880. Since then the pub has gone through a few face lifts but the original beauty of the old architecture still exists.
The pub is family run and has been owned by the Claxton family since 1999. The family prides themselves on providing their customers with a warm friendly atmosphere and good service. Inside the pub you will find a large bar and a restaurant that can seat up to 52 people. The bar is stocked with specialist ales, a variety of popular lagers and wines. During the summer months you can enjoy the outside with our large garden. The Malt Shovel offers ‘good pub grub’ with classic dishes such as Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers and Mash, Fish ‘n’ chips, steak and kidney pudding. In addition to the standard regular menu you will be able to enjoy seasonal specials as well as featured menu nights.
The Claxtons look forward to seeing you!
