Original known as the Chipstead Gardening Club the Chevening Horticultural Society was established in 1970 by a group of enthusiastic local gardeners as a means of meeting to talk about their gardening activities and share knowledge and experiences amongst themselves.
In forming the Society the original members expanded the scope of their endeavours to include:
Monthly meetings for guest speakers
To hold an Annual Show
As a group, to visit local gardens
With a membership of 60+ households the society continues to flourish and encourages it’s members to present their own ‘talks’ to the membership of their own gardening experiences and visits to public gardens both in the UK and overseas.
In addition, the Members Evening in September provides a ready forum for our many enthusiastic digital photographers to show their “pictures’ from the past year. See the Member Contacts page for further information
So why not come and join us.
